Over 25 years ago, I started my graphic design and marketing career when Apple computers were still beige. In my early years, I got my hands dirty and took a crash course in what seemed like every category—designing, printing, selling, managing, and hole digging. I created, sold, and applied graphics to everything that moved, from buses to the occasional private jet. And everything that doesn’t move, from storefronts and mugs to brewery silos, street signs, and a fishing pole for Bond, James Bond.

This initial experience formed an excellent foundation. From there, I narrowed my focus to more creative design and marketing. Less “dirty hands” stuff. I became a Designer for a nationally known tourist attraction and, later, a Senior designer for one of the nation’s leading grilling and outdoor living companies. I worked with brands like Hershey’s and Armor All and helped with private-label design strategies, product development, and packaging for retail chains like Lowe’s, Sam’s Club, and Target.

Over ten years as a Creative Director for a national franchise system, I sharpened my brand consistency, sales support, training, and marketing skills. I was also integral to the company’s contract manufacturing service growth and helped clients with packaging as they took their products to market.

While I worked full-time through the years, I moonlighted for several ministry and non-profit organizations, walked with them as they grew, and assisted in creatively telling their story. Over the years, I realized that the best part of all the work that I have done is helping people to see their ideas, dreams, and passion come to life. Then, stepping aside for the spotlight to be on them when the job is complete.

Outside work, I mostly enjoy hanging out with my family, playing games and anything competitive, and watching sports. I now own and work full-time at Colby & Leigh, where I continue, with my son, to provide creative services for business, ministry, non-profit, and retail.
